Our Year in Review
We've been teaching big history at Macquarie for 25 years; today many other Universities teach it too, and there is even a University textbook called Big History.
Since 2011, with the support of Bill Gates, a wonderful team of web designers and an adventurous, experienced and savvy group of pilot school teachers, we've also built up the superb resources of the Big History Project so that big history is now being taught in several hundred schools in Australia, the US, Korea, the Netherlands, Scotland, Canada and elsewhere.
This year will go down as the "Year of the Big History Institute", the year in which big history achieved a clear institutional status at Macquarie University with the support of our Vice-Chancellor, and under the able leadership of Andrew McKenna and Tracy Sullivan. Threshold 9 is one of many exciting initiatives that have been launched this year. Big History is flourishing, and as members of the Institute you are very much part of that process.
All the best,
Director, Big History Institute
